"Roger darling, I'm ready for my close up!"
A couple of months back, I did a photo shoot for two friends of mine. The theme was Disney Villains and I was picked to portray Cruella De Vil.
Here's the outcome:

Rachel is an amazing young photographer, these pictures would not have happened without her creative talent. You can check out the rest of the Disney shoot here and here as well as Rachel's other projects. This girl's got lots of talent! You won't be disappointed.

I'm With Stupid
Like balloons, we are filled with hopes and dreams.
But.
Over time a single sentence creeps into our lives.
Don’t be stupid.
It’s the crusher of possibility. It’s the worlds greatest deflator.
The world is full of smart people. Doing all kind of smart things… That's smart.
Well, we’re with stupid. Stupid is the relentless pursuit of a regret free life.
Smart may have the brains…but stupid has the balls.
The smart might recognize things for how they are. The stupid see things for how they could be.
Smart critiques. Stupid creates.
The fact is if we didnt have stupid thoughts wed have no interesting thoughts at all.
Smart may have the plans... but stupid has the stories.
Smart may have the authority but stupid has one hell of a hangover.
Its not smart to take risks… Its stupid.
To be stupid is to be brave.
The stupid isn't afraid to fail.
The stupid know there are worse things than failure… like not even trying.
Smart had one good idea, and that idea was stupid.
You can’t outsmart stupid. So don’t even try.
Remember only stupid can be truly brilliant.

this is MY city.
no duh.
Yeaaaaa, I got to hold the torch. No big deal..........
O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command. With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free! From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
After walking around downtown today and seeing everything that's been done to the city, I can honestly say that I am so proud to be a Canadian. But more importantly, I am so proud to be a Vancouverite. A few months ago I wasn't complete supportive of the Olympics because I knew the city would be uber busy, and it would be impossible to get anywhere. But today really opened my eyes. I can't wait to continue exploring all the sites for the next 2 weeks. The best part about today, though, was the fact that I got on TV for the first time in my life. I am so proud of myself.
More photos will be uploaded soon!

"You are not in Kansas anymore. You are on Pandora, ladies and gentleman. "
Flannel shirt: Urban Outfitters($10!), Fedora: Forever 21, Vintage Frames: True Value Vintage
Pretty much when I saw this flannel at UO, I knew I had to have it. The color drew me in right away. But I think what I love the most are the little stud details on the shoulders.

I think they're pretty cool.
Over this Christmas break I unfortunately was only able to see 2 of the 6 movies I wanted to see in theaters:
At 162 minutes, Avatar was great fun. Near the end. I dunno, you may disagree but I just felt the movie lagged in some parts. Yes, the dialogue was uber corny, but it's an action film, you don't watch it for the intelligent dialogue between characters. Overall I think it's worth your money. If you wait for the DVD, you just won't have the same experience unless you've got a 50" or bigger screen TV. Because you need a big screen in order to be amazed by the special effects.
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is 122 minutes. Which I feel is unnecessary. While Avatar is filled with action to keep you entertained for hours, Imaginarium is not. The effects are once again well done, and the acting is pretty good, I was especially surprised by Lily Cole in her feature film debut. I thought she would be really annoying, but she was impressive. Heath Ledger is very good looking of course, and Johnny Depp is a dream (too bad he was only in the movie for 10 minutes). The downside to the film is the overstretched story. In some parts I drifted off and lost interest. It's a very very strange movie, which is why I'm still unsure if I like it or not. To conclude, if you're a fan of Ledger, then see it. He's really good in it so it's unfortunate that he wasn't able to appear in the entire film. Otherwise, if you like simple stories without twists and turns, then you can skip this one.

“When you listen to Bruce’s music, you aren’t a loser. You are a character in an epic poem … about losers”
The Kennedy Center Honors aired last night, and of course I didn't miss it. (I even recorded it)
anyways, every year I always find the presentations so moving. The honorees are always so deserving, and when I hear about their life stories and accomplishments, it makes me want to be an American too. Not that I'm not proud of being a Canadian, I love my country, but Americans are so proud of who they are. And if there's one person who loves his country to the death, it's gotta be 'The Boss'.

There's a dark cloud rising from the desert floor
I packed my bags and I'm heading straight into the storm
Gonna be a twister to blow everything down
That ain't got the faith to stand its ground
Blow away the dreams that tear you apart
Blow away the dreams that break your heart
Blow away the lies that leave you nothing but lost and brokenhearted

to anyone who has been to one of his concerts, you are one lucky person. i'm praying for the day when he tours again. If you've never heard a Bruce Springsteen song, then you are missing out. His songs are stories, they take you on a journey, you don't feel so alone when you hear his voice singing about your life, about the things you go through, they give you hope. That's why he's The Boss.
“People deserve. . . the truth. They deserve honesty. The best music, you can seek some shelter in it momentarily, but it's essentially there to provide you something to face the world with.”

A crowd of people stood and stared, they'd seen his face before.
"I'm not going to change the way I look or the way I feel to conform to anything. I've always been a freak. So I've been a freak all my life and I have to live with that, you know. I'm one of those people."
-John Lennon
Amen to that. RIP John, you'll always be a legend.

stuck in a moment

one word: PALLADIUM
so at first I thought I'd use my savings to get myself a good pair of Doc Martens, but after I spent some time tonight on the Palladium Boots site, I have completely changed my mind. I am for sure saving up to get myself a pair of Palladium's. I still love Martens, but Palladium Boots are just too good to ignore. If you haven't checked out the website, then go! check it out now! And, if I may, you cannot leave the site without watching their exploration videos. So far they only have four, but they're über interesting. My personal fav is the Missile Silo Homes.
"Combining over 60 years of authenticity with modern manufacturing, premium materials and cutting edge styling, Palladium boots are ready to help you explore your street, your city, or the world."

run it back with original flavor

for some strange reason I only came across these promos now, and I gotta say they make me very happy. it might be the colour of the photos, or it might be how fun and exuberant Lady Gaga looks in them. whatever the reason I am very gaga over Gaga right now. I can't even count how many times I've listened to 'Bad Romance'. I'll most likely be making more posts about her and her insane style since I am now very inspired by her look.
"Walk, walk passion baby, work it. I'm a freak bitch, baby"

take a double shot
so I thought I'd stick to the same old poses................
I was pretty damn bored today, so I thought I'd try out action shots. All I really did was move around a lot while my camera was taking photos. I'm quite impressed that they didn't turn out super blurry.
wearing: navy blue blazer-Value Village ($7!!), light blue raglan-American Apparel, high-waist denim skirt-H&M.
However, it was really cold today. And although I've lived in Canada my entire life, I still cannot get used to the weather............

i'm baaaaaack
For now, at least.
I've unfortunately been incredibly busy with school......... okay maybe not. I've just had no inspiration, absolutely none.
Just a few details of what I have been doing with my life so far:
VANCOUVER FASHION WEEK

just some highlights. nothing like NY Fashion Week, but I was glad to be at my first fashion show.
KISS

I never ever ever thought I would see Kiss in concert, however my dad surprised me with tickets the night before the concert. Yeah, I love my life. Mrs.Gene Simmons herself, Shannon Tweed, showed up before the concert started. And to be completely honest, she is a hot mom. Just thought I'd put it out there........ The concert was a BLAST, and I think I had an ever better time than I did at AC/DC.

So I started listening to Wolfmother A LOT, in these past few months and when I heard they were coming here for a concert, I totally freaked. Luckily I had enough cash on me to pay for my ticket, so my super cool aunt and I hit up the concert this past Saturday. Funnest concert ever, so far. I literally had so much fun, I never sat down once. And the crowd was so rowdy. People in the front row never stopped jumping up on stage, by the end the security guards pratically gave up. I'd definitely go see them again.
